The UK government has collaborated with industry to produce a freely available online cyber security training course to help organisations protect from threats in the supply chain and potential breaches that could cost millions of pounds.
The training is aimed at procurement professionals including those responsible for sourcing new suppliers or services, and is hosted by CIPS, the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply.

Over 7 sections the course covers a range of cyber security issues related to procurement and the supply chain, and usefully, discusses scenarios:

Two CPD Hours
Protecting digital data, addressing security in supplier relationships, meeting legal requirements and handling information security in the workplace are some of the subjects featured within the headings above and the online course has a 2 CPD hours attached which comes as an added benefit to those who may feel time pressured.
2015 Information Security Breaches Survey
The government’s recently published 2015 Information Security Breaches Survey shows 74% of small businesses and 90% of large organisations reported an information security breach in the past year. 50% of the worst breaches were caused by inadvertent human error.
